Mustapha Vows To Tackle Insecurity, Build On Fintiri’s Legacy In Adamawa

Hanny Zarokada

Salihu Mustapha, a governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, has pledged to address the growing security challenges confronting communities across the state if elected governor.

Mustapha, a former North-East National Vice Chairman of the APC, made the pledge during separate royal homage visits to the Emirs of Madagali, Michika and Mubi.

The APC chieftain said his administration would consolidate on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri in key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture and youth empowerment.

According to him, his background as a lawyer, political analyst and security expert places him in a strong position to contribute meaningfully to restoring peace and stability in Adamawa, particularly in communities within the Northern Zone bordering the Sambisa Forest, a known hideout of Boko Haram insurgents.

Mustapha commended President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, for ongoing efforts to combat insecurity across the country.

He expressed confidence that stronger collaboration between the state and the Federal Government under the APC would attract more democratic dividends to Adamawa, including employment opportunities, poverty reduction and infrastructural development.

In their separate remarks, the traditional rulers welcomed the APC aspirant and assured him of their support.

The paramount ruler of Michika, Luka Gadiga, urged Mustapha to prioritise youth empowerment and job creation, noting that unemployment remains a major factor fueling insecurity in the state.

Similarly, Ali Danburam, the Ptil Madagali, represented by  Mustapha Sinusi, expressed confidence in Mustapha’s leadership qualities and encouraged him to intensify efforts toward tackling insecurity while sustaining the developmental strides of Governor Fintiri.

Also speaking, Bathiya Wesley, Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, described Mustapha as a grassroots politician with the credibility and capacity to govern the state effectively.

He called on traditional rulers and residents to support Mustapha’s governorship ambition ahead of the next election cycle.

Mustapha also met with party officials in two local government areas, where he promised to create more opportunities for party members and residents.

He further solicited their support and cooperation in his bid to emerge as the next governor of Adamawa State.
