Mustapha Salihu Withdraws From Adamawa Guber Race, Accepts APC Senate Ticket

A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State, Mustapha Salihu, has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race following directives from the national leadership of the party.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by Ahmad Sajoh, the Head of Strategic Communication of the campaign organization, who disclosed that Salihu would now contest for the Senate seat representing the Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone under the platform of the APC.

According to the statement, the decision was reached in line with consultations and directives from the party’s leadership at the national level. The campaign organization urged coordinators and supporters across the state to remain calm, united, and committed to the party’s collective goals ahead of the 2027 general elections.

 Salihu expressed appreciation to the people of Adamawa State, particularly members and supporters of the APC, for the confidence, encouragement, and solidarity shown to him during his gubernatorial aspiration. He described the support he received across the state as overwhelming and deeply inspiring.

The APC chieftain also reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the party and pledged total commitment to the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the overall success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
