Nasarawa PDP Chairman’s Call  On Defectors To Relinquish Their Office Is Out of Issues-APC Secretary

With the threat by the State Chairman of the opposition political party, The People’s Democratic Party in Nasarawa State, Hon. Francis Orogu on political office holders that defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress elected under the platform of PDP to vacate office or relinquish power, The State Secretary of APC,Aliyu Bello has described the threat as out of issues.

 

The Party scribe said the statement of Orogu is death before arrival, saying a court of competent jurisdiction iS the only and final arbiter to pass judgment, not the Chairman.

 

Aliyu Bello gave the assurance that the ruling All Progressives Congress would clinch the exalted seats of Chairmanship and Councillorship in all the 147 polling units of the State come October 6 Local Government Council election.

 

Ahead of the party primaries, Aliyu Bello gave the disclosure that the party would conduct a hitch-free and credible election.

 

While commenting on the hike in the prices of nomination form which sold for N1,000,000 m for Chairmanship with N200,000 for expression of interest and Councillorship nomination form for N150,000 and N50,000 for expression of interest explained that the hike was necessitated due to the rising spate of printing materials.

 

According to him,” we needed like N500,000,000 m to cover all cost which includes the cost of printing of nomination forms, expression of interest, security, ad-hoc staff, publicity and other miscellaneous”.

 

He further compares the cost of nomination forms and expression of interest in Benue, Plateau, and other PDP control states higher than Nasarawa State.

 

The Party scribe described the PDP as a comatose party that has nothing to offer Nasarawa State, Adding that the PDP ruled the State for 16 wasted years, He however maintained that the PDP is not doing enough as an opposition party.

 

“I know we as the ruling Party has our lapses and the essence of opposition is to serve as an alternative that would strengthen democracy in the State”.

 

 

On the mass exodus of people cut across all political parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress in the State, The party Secretary said is a clear testimony of virile and robust Administration under the sterling leadership of Engineer Abdullahi Sule.

 

On the consensus of Nasarawa State APC, Aliyu Bello said the ruling party agreed on consensus due to the existing unity amongst party stakeholders.

 

“The consensus in our party signified a unity of purpose in our party”.

 

The Secretary while reacting aftermath of the revalidation and update of  the party’s membership card buttressed that the party has over 400,000 registered members in Nasarawa State APC register.
