The State Chairman of the ruling party, The All Progressives Congress, Aliyu Bello has accused the supporters of the opposition political party in the State, The People’s Democratic Party for smashing two vehicles, 406, one belonging to the party Chairman, Aliyu Bello and another 406 belonging to a stakeholder of the party.
The party speaking shortly after the incident, described the act as inhumane and meant to disrupt the relative peace experience in the State.
During an exclusive interview with Universal Reporters said those causing wanton disturbances as mercenaries from the core north and those that did not mean well for the State.
He called on security operatives in the State to clamp on violent protesters destroying valuables.
A team of Joint Security personnel arrested some protesters at the All Progressives Congress APC secretariat.
The protesters were on their way from the government house where they had marched earlier. Still, they were prevented from getting close by security personnel led by State Police Commissioner Shehu Nadada.
Trouble started when the protesters between the ages of 19 to 22 were matching past the APC secretariat shouting APC ba ma so.. Meaning “We don’t want APC “Some of the protesters who were armed with sticks attacked them.
The attack infuriated them and they began throwing stones at the officials and ran away.
Some of the unlucky ones who were following from behind were however apprehended by some members of NAYES who later handed them to the security personnel who had received an emergency call and rushed to the area.
They thereafter regrouped at the Shendam -Makurdi road junction with a bonfire.
Security personnel thereafter responded by throwing teargas to disperse them.
