The former Senator representing Plateau North Senatorial District ,Senator I. D. Gyang, Esq has condemned the unprovoked attack on Palm Sunday by unknown gunmen in Angwan Rukuba suburbs of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday.
The Senator in a statement made available to this medium on Monday expressed sadness over the unfortunate situation in the state after a long period of strengthening peaceful coexistence amongst the diverse group.
He said,”i am deeply saddened and outraged by the horrific killing of innocent persons on Palm Sunday at Angwan Rukubu, Jos. This barbaric act, carried out on a day of peace, reflection, and sacred devotion, is a grievous assault on our shared humanity and the sanctity of life.
“My heart goes out to the families and loved ones of the victims during this time of unimaginable pain and loss. I stand in solidarity with the entire community, praying for comfort for the bereaved, healing for the injured, and strength for all those affected ,” he said.
I unequivocally condemn this heinous act of terror. Such violence has no place in our society and must be met with firm resolve, justice, and a renewed commitment to peace and unity. We must not allow fear or hatred to divide us; instead, we must come together, stronger and more determined, to uphold the values of compassion, tolerance, and coexistence.
May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may the merchants of terror and bloodshed be speedily apprehended and brought to justice by the law enforcement agencies, amen.
