Four people have reportedly been kidnapped while one vigilante member killed during an attack by gunmen in the Byazhin area in Kubwa, within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to residents, the incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, June 4, 2036, when the attackers stormed the community around 1 am and abducted no fewer than four persons.
Residents said that during the operation, which threw the area into panic, a member of the local vigilante group was shot dead while attempting to confront the assailants and prevent the abductions.
However, the identities of the kidnapped victims and the slain vigilante member were not immediately available as of the time of filing this report.
Residents said the incident has heightened fears over the worsening security situation in communities around Bwari and Kubwa, where cases of kidnapping and violent attacks have become increasingly frequent in recent years.
