Pandemonium In Plateau Terminus, As Two Women Died

… Igbo Leader calls for 24 hours curfew in affected areas…

There was pandemonium and chaos in the Plateau Terminus market that caused traders to run helter-skelter for no obvious reasons as shop owners closed down

It was gathered that some of the miscreants around Dulla junction had a misunderstanding between them, which was later hijacked.

Plateau State capital, on Wednesday morning, was engulfed in fresh chaos owing to misinformation arising from the general public that some people were killed this early morning by unknown gunmen.

Another version of the misinformation was that irate youth barricaded the Angwan Rukuba suburbs of Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State and sparked off chaos.

However, in a swift response to the alleged killings in Angwan Rukuba the incident spread across St Paul inside the Terminus market behind Plateau Riders bus stop.

The rumour of the fresh killings extended to Gada Biu, Polo, Angwan Rogo Communities on alleged confusion created leading to closing down of major shops in Plateau State.

Also another source, disclosed that there was a small misunderstanding around Farin Gada market, which was later extended to Angwan Rukuba,Gada Biu, with the instant killing of two women.

The news spread faster in a divided Plateau communities along religious beliefs, bringing reprisal attacks again after Governor Caleb Mutfwang relaxed his 48-hour rule to 7 am -3 pm.

Speaking to the Igbo Leader, Chief Sam Igwe Achi expressed shock that nothing is happening, but a lot of shop owners are running helter-skelter for an unidentified reason.

He called on all the Igbo traders to stay close to their shops and safeguard them from miscreants who might want to take advantage and loot their properties.

According to him, he has spoken to the security chief, and adequate security personnel were deployed to the affected areas facing crime.

He appealed to Governor Mutfwang to impose curfew in Angwan Rukuba, Angwan Rogo , Farin Gada market, and anywhere these breakdowns of law and order are reported within the Jos -Bukuru axis.

Igwe stressed that those traders who are closing down their shops and running back home should know that this is the only source of their income, so they have to stand and protect it.

As the security personnel deployed to the affected areas, the security is gradually returning to normalcy in the state capital after serious tension brewing.

It was gathered that some of the youth took advantage of the upheaval, looting properties in the early hours of the curfew relaxed.
