NSUBEB Chairman Urged Community Leaders To Take Ownership of Public Schools

… recruitment of 4,700 teachers will  be on merit

The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon.Mohammed Musa Dan’azumi has called on Heads of communities to take full ownership of Public schools as their investment.

In an interview, the Chairman expressed displeasure over how and how community leaders and Heads show less concern about Government schools, especially the cradle of education.

Narrating to Journalists how people in some communities climbed roofs of primary school when it was raining to remove zinc while others are in the habit of removing window frames and burglaries.

Saying the law of Karma will one day catch those in such habits, Appealing to village and districts heads to see those properties as they are owned.

Dan’azumi lauded the State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for the prompt payment of marching grants which runs into billions of naira.

“It is only God that will reward Governor Abdullahi Sule for the good work is doing for the people”.

According to him “The Governor was prompt in the payment of counterpart funds to the Universal Basic Education Board, Our Governor can be described as the first or the best Governor of our time, Besides that, He also ensured all needed infrastructures, instructional materials are distributed to the end users as at when due.

The Chairman, however, attested that the presence of Governor Abdullahi Sule is almost everywhere across communities, He added.

On the issue of the long-awaited recruitment of 4,700 basic teachers, The Chairman confided that all is set for the final release of names of qualified persons in no distance time.

“I’ve been the Executive Chairman of NSUBEB for almost 8 years now, since 2011 there has been no recruitment of teachers in primary schools, Said Mohammed Dan’azumi.

The Chairman said the recruitment exercise will be mostly on meritocracy, saying giving credence to merit will enhance teaching and learning at the cradle of education.

“The awaiting recruitment exercise was an exercise with a difference with the conglomeration of committees which comprises experts in the education sector, especially the Local Government Chairmen, National Teachers Institute, The Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Nigeria Union of Teachers and the Ministry of Education constituted a committee under the able leadership of Joseph Kaura.

“One thing that differentiates Governor Abdullahi Sule from others is that he can channel resources to the appropriate place, That is Governor Abdullahi Sule for you.

The Executive Chairman Issued a stiff warning to Government officials to shun anything capable of causing untold hardship by collecting graft from applicants waiting for jobs to change a new leaf or faced the full wrath of the law by attempting to jeopardize the exercise.

“If you are a syndicate collecting money for a job, Nasarawa State is no longer safe for you people, Change before security operatives nab you and your team”.
