Gov Sule Approves Recruitment Of 1000 Primary School Teachers, Says NSUBEB Chairman

The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), Dr.Kassim Muhammed Kassim, has disclosed that Governor Abdullahi Sule has approved the recruitment of 1000 teachers into primary and Junior secondary schools in the State.

Dr. Kassim revealed this on Tuesday after a closed-door meeting with the executive chairmen of the 13 Local Government Council’s in Lafia.

He said a 7-man committee made up of four members from the board and three from the Council chairmen will soon be inaugurated to immediately fast-track the recruitment process.

The NSUBEB chairman thanked Governor Abdullahi Sule for listening to the cry of the people of the State, especially parents whose children are in public schools, for strengthening the workforce of primary school teachers.

He noted that the Governor has, by this singular action, shown that basic education is indeed the foundation of every child.

Dr.Kassim explained further that he has so far redeployed 1,900 administrative staff with teaching qualifications back to the classrooms as part of his effort to close the shortage of teachers gap.
