Former Plateau State Governor, Senator Dr Joshua Chibi Dariye, has urged Muslim faithfuls to imbibe the spirit of peaceful coexistence as they mark Eid-el-Fitr which signifies the conclusion of the Ramadan fast.
Senator Dariye, who stated this in a statement, implored adherents of the Islamic faith to use the lessons learnt to pray for the leadership of the country at all levels.
The former governor, who rejoiced with the Muslim Ummah over the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, called on them to use the sacrifice, faith, endurance and the trust in God to pray for the corporate existence of Nigeria.
” As you celebrate, do not lose sight of the significance or hallmark of the celebration which is rededication of your faith to the service of God and humanity”.
” The country is facing multifaceted challenges especially security issues ranging from insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and herders – farmers clashes, among others which require the prayers of citizens for divine intervention”.
He applauded the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for keeping faith with his ” Renewed Hope Agenda” aimed at restoring hope and confidence of citizens in public institutions.
Senator Dariye reminded adherents to share with those in need and the less privileged so as to attract Allah’s blessings which was the significance of the celebration.
On behalf of his family, friends and political associates, Senator Dariye wished all the Muslim faithful a blissful celebration as they joined their counterparts around the globe to mark the special occasion.
