An Imo State based Journalist who is also an Ex-student of the Imo State University Owerri,IMSU,
Mr.Peter Dibia,has over the weekend affirmed that “An academy field of study, is not a place of politics but a place for building leaders of tomorrow”.
But in Imo State most governors have turned academic field it to be a place of politics, which has kept the schools in the State backwards.
Clamouring for the removal of the current Vice Chancellor of IMSU,Prof.Mrs.Victoria Adaobi Obasi,can only take varsity backwards.
Therefore, Mr.Peter,have seized the opportunity to appeal to present Governor of Imo State,Chief Emeka Ihedioha,to allow Imo State University leadership under Prof.Obasi to be,and focus on rebuilding Imo State as his part of campaign promises to Imo people.
Secondly,rather than sacking her, let him (the Governor) see a way of making sure students of the institution are properly trained to be the best in the world
Thirdly, all those instigating the Governor against that woman of substance should as a matter of unveiling the truth desist from doing so, because they are the bad eggs in that school.
Over the years, Imo State University Owerri,has always been seeing in the eyes of the public as the most corrupt institution in Nigeria,but the emergence of Prof.Victoria Adaobi Obasi,as the substantial Vice Chancellor of the University with her painstakingly selected team like Professor B. E. B. Nwaoke as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administrations,Prof.Nkwam Uwaoma as Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic,Dr.Emeka Uchendu,as the Chief Librarian, have jointly transformed the institution to the best school and the past glory has being restored.
In Nigeria,IMSU is known for producing the best Law Students,but for so long nothing of such has happened but thanks to Prof.Victoria Adaobi Obasi,who in the recent time has turned positively the institution to record over (5) Five First Class Graduates in Law Schools,New Doctors were inducted and left the school to face their futures, some of the departments has gained there accreditation, many structures has sprung up, the issue of fake admission is now a thing of the past,fake recipients have gone, hence her new policy of online payment courtesy from the office of the DVC Acadmic,Prof Nkwam Uwaoma.
Why are they clamouring for her removal, one may be pushed to ask?
Yes,all those lecturers who believes in sorting and sex for grades in the institution,having boys all around them,committing all manner of academic frauds, has been fished out and flashed out through her policy of pay online, all books must be sold in the book shop, no illegal money entering their accounts again instead of changing and work with the woman to bring purity in the school, they restoted in fighting her, I want to tell you all, if you plan and remove her some day someone else will also do the same.
The Governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha,as the Governor of Imo States,should please do not allow all those old lecturers who are only seeking for their selfish interests rather than the glorious future of the students who will be the governor of any state, president, commissioners and off course your successor someday to distract you on your quest to rebuild Imo state and to give us a qualitative education.
