Former Nigerian Ambassador to Switzerland , Ambassador Yahaya Kwande has threatened to take legal action against the publisher of ” Sahara Reporters”, for alleging that he asked Alh Atiku Abubakar to congratulate ,President Muhammadu Buhari for winning the just concluded Presidential election held on the 23rd February, 2019.
Amb Kwande told journalists at his Residence in Jos, Plateau State capital by expressing dismay with the reports credited to an online medium telling the world a story that didn’t emanate from him.
He explained further that, “is not bad for someone to have been congratulated a winner if he the winner really deserves it”.
Kwande, who is a member of the Northern Elders Forum, insisted that he never congratulated or asked someone to do so especially in this peak of election tension when results are still pending by describing the insinuation as baseless, unfortunate for someone to have written strong on me that “I congratulate “.
Speaking in an interview with Journalists, the former Ambassador said, “don’t forget Waziri Adamawa is a close associate of mine for clocking 30 years so the results was not ready for me to ask that he should go ahead and congratulate, when I heard that the story was circulating online media I felt very sad is just like putting a knife on me.
“I want the world to know what some people are saying that there is nothing like that I didn’t say anything to any journalist ,he take knife trying to kill me, I have consulted with my lawyers waiting for legal action”, he said.
Adding some people advise me to ignore the report but it is the best for me not to ignore because they have once accused of importing arms to kill Christian after six months that same report was repeated.
Kwande emphasized he was brought up from good Christian background and some of his children are still Christian so why should I employ foreigners to come and killed them.
