Senate Begins Probe Against NNPC Boss, Baru, Over Ibe Kachikwu’s Allegations

The Senate, on Wednesday set up an ad-hoc committee to probe the Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti  Baru following an allegation brought against him by Minister of State for Petroleum.

According to the Senate, the panel among other things will also probe the policy introduced by the NNPC Trading Limited, a subsidiary of the corporation.

The panel will also investigate the policy introduced by the NNPC Trading Limited, a subsidiary of the corporation, among other issues.

It would be recalled that the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, in a petition to President Muhammadu Buhari accused Baru of insubordination.

The committee members are Aliyu Wamako Chairman, Tayo Alasoadura, Akpan Bassey, Samuel Anyanwu, and Ahmed Ogembe, Chukwuka Utazi, Rose Oko, Baba Garba and Kabir Marafa.
