Principal St John Bosco College Send SOS Message To Governor Sule Over Gully Erosion

The Principal of St. John Bosco College Doma has sent a Save our Soul message to  Nasarawa state Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule to come to the rescue of the fence of the College, which he said was on the pang of collapsing.

 

Reverend Father Victor Davou stated this during a chat with a cross-section of Journalists in the state.

 

He also appealed to Old Boys of the College to rescue their alma-mater from been degraded by gully erosion due to road construction.

 

The principal said the call became imperative due to the havoc the gully erosion wreak the College fence and other properties.

 

He explained that if utmost attention is not taken to address the current environmental challenges caused during the construction of Doma-Agyaragu road by Triacta construction firm.

 

“The construction of Doma-Agyaragu road was the main cause of our predicament because no proper water channel was created from the main road to the stream instead, it was created halfway”.

 

Reverend Father Victor Davou explained that in spite of a series of complaints to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resource, Nasarawa Urban Development Board little attention was given to the devastation.

 

“Triacta after we reported to them, they came back and start the construction of the gully erosion site but was abandoned mid-way with no further explanation from the company”.

 

The Principal said the ravaging fence potent security threat to the College as he lamented the intrusion of the school by outsiders.

 

Father Davou stated that the major challenges faced by the College are the noise pollution caused by neighbors during classes.

 

“We are facing some nagging challenges ranging from the naming ceremony, wedding from the host community who are our immediate neighbors”.

 

He decried the trespassing of the school through the fence by the trespassing, we gave them the leverage to steal farm produce belonging to the staff of the College.

 

The Principal appealed to Old Boys to rescue the school which he said was in dire need of support.

 

He said the school would be 50 years of the establishment by 2023.
