Award Of Contract For The Construction Of Gully Erosion Project In Shinge, Lafia LG Excites Residents

Engineer Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has awarded a significant construction project aimed at tackling gully erosion in Shinge, Lafia Local Government Area, with funding assistance from the World Bank.

The state Steering Committee Chairman of  ACReSAL and Commissioner,  Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Princess Dr. Margaret Elayo, made this announcement during a recent meeting focused on the compensation settlement for residents impacted by the gully erosion construction project.

An ecstatic atmosphere enveloped the area as both young and old residence of the Shinge community warmly welcomed Princess Margaret Elayo.

In a show of unity and gratitude, the residents celebrated by dancing and singing praises for Governor Abdullahi Sule. The infectious joy prompted Princess Elayo to join in the festivities alongside the community.

The relentless gully erosion that has plagued the community and threatened lives and properties is now on the brink of resolution.

Residents of Shinge applauded Governor Abdullahi Sule for his commitment to people-oriented projects, expressing their confidence in the administration’s programs and policies.

Amidst the accolades, Princess Dr. Margaret Elayo assured the community of Governor Sule’s steadfast commitment to addressing their concerns and improving the lives of the good people of Nasarawa State.

Beneficiaries of the project, which spans Doma, Toto, and Lafia Local Government Areas, received assurances that every affected household will be fully compensated.

Princess Elayo stressed that no household enumerated will be left out during this compensation process.

The compensation exercise, which is expected to last for three days, was outlined by State Project Coordinator, Dr. Napoleon Gyobe.

He acknowledged Governor Abdullahi Sule’s dedication and reassured all enumerated recipients that they would receive their rightful compensation.
