The Executive members of Owerri West Journalists Association(OJA),paid a courtesy visit to Barr Clement Asoluka, a PDP Owerri west chairmanship aspirant, recently at Gonlese hotel located along FUTO road Obinze.
Introducing the association’s aims and targets, the chairman Sunny Ejiogu said their main target is to give Owerri west a strong voice.As critical stakeholders from the LGA,we are poised to use our various media organizations to uplift the political activities in the LGA and beyond. To also guide and protect our brothers and sisters in all their endeavours, though we cannot shy away from our usual constructive criticisms Ejiogu noted.
Barr Asoluka expressed happiness to interface with seasoned journalists of OJA, he charged them to always report objectively and constructively as to project the proper outlook of people as being part of their services to the growth and development of the society.
Barr Asoluka declared his intention to contest the chairmanship position in the next local government election. He promised to make the people of the local government happy if elected. Barr Asoluka hails from Emeabiam, a known community in the LGA,in his words, I am a grassroot politician, a community leader, a philanthropist of repute, well experienced. I was the agent that represented our dear governor Rt. Hon Emeka Ihedioha in the last governorship election.If given the opportunity to serve as an elected chairman I will wipe out hunger, poverty and will attract small scale industries in Owerri west LGA.I will put aside the bullon van type of politics in our system, where people are usually used and dumped.
Barr Asoluka said he joined politics specifically to correct some wrongs in our political landscape. He said, as an executive chairman, that he will create jobs for the youths, develop markets, encourage sports, and close the gaps to assist in growing the revenue of the council.He promised to make visibly clear the boundaries of Owerri west from our sister LGA.He said he will ensure the effective security of the people of Owerri west.
He further appealed to the PDP delegates to support his aspiration and select him as their candidate.
