A 38-year-old university graduate, Mike Oje , was reportedly beaten to death by his neighbour, Edebiri Temitope , in the Mowe area of Ogun State. The fatal confrontation began after the victim, who held a degree in Guidance and Counselling, hugged and played with the suspect’s three-year-old child . Infuriated by what he perceived as “rough play,” the 43-year-old father grabbed a bamboo stick and repeatedly assaulted Oje until he collapsed and died on the spot.
Following the tragic assault, the suspect immediately fled the area and went into hiding alongside his family. However, the Ogun State Police Command has since tracked down and arrested Temitope . According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi , the suspect has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, where he faces a thorough investigation for homicide.
