North East Development Commission To Construct Over 500 Housing Units In Bauchi

North East Development Commission NEDC is to construct about 500 housing units in Bauchi State in order to close the housing gap.

 

The Elders and North East Youths Forum which made this known to newsmen in Bauchi today commended the Managing Director and CEO of the Commission, Alkali Goni Mohammed for executing meaningful projects in the North East Zone.

 

The press statement which was signed by Alhaji Salihu Magaji, the National President of the Forum, said that since its establishment, the Commission has carried out massive rebuilding projects on houses destroyed by the activities of insurgents.

 

According to the Forum, the beginning of the foundation of the 500 hundred housing units to be built in Bauchi will be performed by the executive Governor of the state, Mohammed Bala Abdulkadir on Thursday in addition to Flagg off of the distribution of food and non-food items.

 

The Forum said the NEDC will also visit some historic roads that have defied in the previous administrations that will be constructed by the Commission in Bauchi State.

 

The Forum National President showed his happiness that the Alkaleri to Futuk road in Alkaleri Lga, Alkaleri to Kirfi, then Gombe Abba road in same Kirfi that have defied solution for many years is being considered for construction by the commission.

 

Alkali also said in Bauchi, NEDC will inspect the ongoing construction of the Soro cattle market in Ganjuwa LGA and Fistula Hospital in Ningi Local Government Area.

 

The Forum expressed their joy to the leadership of the commission for what they have been doing for the development of the zone.
