The Former Chairman of Kanam Local Government Council of Plateau State, Hon Abbas Adamu Wakdung has been advised to withdraw his membership from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) as the provision of the electoral act 2020 forbids him for a candidate holding multiple political parties membership at the same time in Nigeria.
The SDP secretary, Hon Alpha N.K made this disclosure during an interview with journalists in Jos, at party headquarters on Tuesday.
He employs Hon Abbas Adamu Wakdung to go back to his Gumshar ward and retrieve the membership officially for the interests of his political ambition.
Alfa explained the danger of holding swear to multiple political parties that Hon Abbas Wakdung indicate his official interests to contest under the platform of the SDP which primary was rescheduled to hold on the 14th July 2022 but he reneged on his agreement reached with officials of the party.
The allegations filtering of air that Hon Abbas Adamu Wakdung came to the obtained nomination of interest forms from the SDP which he came to the office accompanied by Hon Leo Dilkon that he wants to participate in the forthcoming primary of the party ahead of the substitution period.
Alpha emphasizes that after fulfilling the party guidelines required by the party when the official arrangement after holding primaries for Leo Dilkon on the 7th July 2022 in Pankshin LGA, which Hon Abbas Wakdung requested that his own be shifted to the 14th July 2022 for the party to conduct his primary.
According to him, “Abbas called the party to shift the date, but only for them to hear that he has moved to Labour Party, LP, as the flag bearer and the SDP now suffered her inability to hear from him and they cry out that they party failure to fill in a candidate due to nonchalant attitude of the former Chairman to communicate them as he picks up PKK ticket under the LP left the party to take the drastic measure of addressing his perpetual interests.
The party leadership stressed how Wakdung inability to get back so they are calling on him to submit his letter of Withdrawal from the SDP through the party state secretary now.
