It may not be easy for Governor Mohammed Abubakar to celebrate the democracy day following the alleged arrival of Buhari presidential committee to investigate the non-payment of workers’ salary, pension and gratuity worth over N18 billion to 6,000 retirees in Bauchi state.
The presidential committee headed by a former army officer has stormed Bauchi as learnt by this medium and are currently busy working to unearth the wobbly reason why the bailout fund could not cater for the purpose it was released including the N4bn loan that was said to have been collected by Abubakar on assumption of duty allegedly without State lawmakers and cabinet approval.
Insider confided to this medium that the committee refuses to pay a courtesy call to the governor as it has rather commenced its business to find out the motive behind financial crisis in Bauchi state.
It was gathered that the committee had the representative of the EFCC, Police and other security agencies and are poised to carry out their statutory function to rekindle the hope of workers and the entire citizens.
It would be recalled that the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abubakar Al-Sadique had recently issued a press statement debunking the visit of the committee saying there is nothing like that.
The visit of the committee according to a privy information said has made the governor to be worried, especially now that he prepares to showcase his administration giant strides where stakeholders has since accused him of none performance after one year in office.
The committee as learnt by this medium were shocked to realized that Abubakar did not commission any single project within his one year in office, blaming it to lack of inclusive government as corroborated by Hon. Ahmed Yerima member representing Misau/Danbam constituency.
“Let me tell you all the newspaper advertisement by Abubakar are fiction and mere attempt to divert Bauchi people attention from the real thing, come 2019, PDP will surely take over Bauchi” said the source.
