Governor Jonah Jang leads plateau in poor marking the day in the state capital.

The NLC leadership extend a hand of fellowship to the incoming regime advising them to begin reconciliation amongst plateau people and take a critical look at their plight .

Bancir raised alarm that their future has been destroyed by a few of people who saw the workers as an enemy that should be left to survive under harsh conditions of service.

The NLC boss said, “our members have remained unshaken even in the face of deprivation by government, they endured lack in the midst of plenty, we didn’t allow the pains to translate in to violence as they government suppressed our reactions”.

Comrade Jibrin Bancir emphasized that those issues affecting the workers welfare in plateau state include; outstanding arrears of minimum wage ,non release of promotions of our members, consistent lack of payment of salaries of our members, even when it is apparent that the funds are available, non implementation of minimum wage to local government and primary school employers.

According to him, the 2012 outstanding leave and transport grant (LTG) ,non payment of gratuity and pension to retirees of both state ,LG and primary school employees,non remittance of National Housing Fund (NHF) for six months deducted in 2013 , non completion of biometric exercise within the stipulated period.

“Fellow comrades, we have no doubt kept. Faith with democracy over the years , for the unity of our great country Nigeria unfortunately the Jang administration take advantage of this humility to punished us” .

Speaking further Mrs Nanyi Ayuba. In her sadness expressed full regret that the Jang administration brought them pain and sorrow.

Today we are supposed to be very happy but because of the numerous things on ground like non payment of staff salaries, lack of promotion the workers in plateau are denied this opportunity, she explained.

She noted that, “if you look at my right hands you. Will see a black piece of tide round my Wright which symbolized we are mourning today ,issued salaries, promotion good conditions of service was uhuru .

Ayuba.  Lamented that under the present regime many promises were not done just the 18% MINIMUMs WAGE.

We learned that the promoted some of us which was just in a white paper but nothing is attached to the promotion.

The Chairman Nigerian Union of Teacher , Comrade Gungshing Yarling stressed that they pray that God should bring a good leaders who will bring smiling to them .

He decried that the present regime will leave behind many debts for incoming administration of Bar. Lalong .

Commissioner for information and communication, Hon. Muhammad Abubakar Badu said government is using this opportunity to appreciate the support and cooperation given to it by Labour on the Plateau, which has gone a long way in contributing to the tremendous infrastructural and other developments recorded in the state.

He appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress, Plateau state council to extend similar commitment to the incoming administration to enable it build on the achievements of the Jang administration.

Badu added government hopes that the workers Day will also provide the platform for workers to reflect on how best to boost productivity and collaboration with the incoming administration to take Plateau state to a higher pedestal.

The Plateau state government facilitates with Plateau workers on the occasion of this year May Day celebration.
