Speaker Gombe State House Of Assembly Removed Constituency Borehole For Not Winning Election
Former chairman of conference speakers of Nigeria and outgoing speaker of Gombe state House of Assembly Rt Hon. Inuwa Garba has been alleged of ordering the removal of borehole in Garin-Bappi village, one of the communities within his constituency in Gombe state.
It was also gathered that the affected community had failed to vote him into power during the State Assembly General Election that was conducted in the state recently.
The speaker who currently represents Yamaltu west constituency in Gombe state House of Assembly was said to have contested under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party( PDP) and lost to Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim of the All Progressives Congress( APC) being declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission in Gombe.
Sources who are also residents of the community disclosed that , following the defeat of the speaker at the poll, he shamefully ordered irate youths to remove the borehole even as its project work has reached advanced stage.
The speaker was said to have donated the borehole to the community to help alleviate the suffering of the people, also based on the agreement made between him and the community elders.
The affected community which is situated at Lubo community Yamaltu- Deba Local Government of the state was said to have called on member elect Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Ibrahim as a matter of urgency to assist and restore back the borehole in the affected community.
A source also told our correspondent that the speaker who was earlier at Garin Bappi village in other to canvass for votes to guarantee his success into the state House of Assembly for the third time.
Sources said, based on the agreement with the people, the speaker promised to construct a borehole in the community if the people agreed to support him during the election period. However people of the community failed to fulfill their promise as the speaker was said to have secured only 15 votes from the area which according to sources lead to the action by the speaker.
