Jigawa state government has debunked the rumor making round the state that the present administration of Governor Badaru Abubakar is yet to commence the housing programme he promised to start since his inception to power.

The Managing Director Jigawa State Housing Authority Alhaji Babangida Abubakar Sadiq said already the project of construction of 1330 house has started and he assured that before the end of 2017 those housing units will be completed.

He added that in each of the 27 local government areas in the state 50 housing units will be constructed for the benefit of civil servants in the state in which after completion the houses will be allocated to staff of the local government and staff of the ministries working in the state for them to acquire houses at lower cost with a view to reduce the issues of housing problems for workers in the state.

The MD lamented further that the state government is not happy with the federal mortgage bank where Jigawa money for the housing project is being kept and has not been released due to non-appointment of members, board of directors as well as managing director of the bank.

He therefore appealed to the federal government to as a matter of urgency  appoint all the demanded executives of the bank as well as board so that the state project schedule to start since January last year.

According to him, the project will gulp up to two billion Naira to actualize.
