IPAC Condemns Invasion Of Tribunal Premises To Harass, Governor Caleb Mutfwang

Yakubu Busari

The Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, of the 19 Northern States and chairman of the Social Democratic Party,(SDP) ,Hon. Abubakar Dogara has condemned the recent invasion and harassment of Governor Caleb Mutfwang as undemocratic and caused by selfish and desperate politicians to mobilize miscreants and hooligans to the tribunal premises to create confusion.

Speaking to our correspondence at the SDP headquarters in Jos, Dogara urged Caleb to be decisive and fish out the perpetrators of dastardly killings and civil unrest in the State.

He said,” This is very surprising, it is surprised that something like this happens in Plateau, Plateau state is very mature in politics and we have one people and united people on the Plateau but unfortunately some politicians try to use hooligans to cause confusion at the venue of an election tribunal.

It unfortunate because a court premise is supported to be the safest place for every citizen and no one knows what will be the outcome of the tribunal There is no reason why some people will go there and harass their opponent especially if that is a sitting Governor somebody would hire people to go and disgrace him,” he said.

According to him, I don’t think that the people that did that act disgraced the Governor but they ended up disgracing themselves so on the other hand I called the attention of the sitting Governor to make sure that he reach out to all the stakeholders especially the political stakeholders to bring an end to this kind of happening in the state.

Abubakar Dogara advised all the sister political parties that, we have 18 political parties operating here on the Plateau and we are just like brothers and sisters and there is no anyway I might be in government today and tomorrow someone else would occupy the government house.

He cautioned that you can’t always be in government, if your time is over don’t try to see that you disrupt a sister political party tenure so that is what I will advise our people.

He stated,” I rather advise the sitting Governor on the Plateau that he must be decisive and he must look into the Government squarely and bring to book whoever found wanting.

He admonished that Mutfwang should take security issues seriously is an issue that he has to handle it without fear of compromising the standard.

The Governor needed to go about it squarely and be practical about it, he shouldn’t soften the issue, especially no its ugly drama start at the very beginning of his administration, and should deal with it headlong”, he disclosed.

Dogara disclosed the Plateau Governor should take decisive measures not to allow a few greedy politicians to hijack the government and disrupt his tenure because they are trying to force him with challenges to be tackling insecurity today and tomorrow throughout the tenure.

He maintained that Mr. Governor should make sure that issues of security be put behind and look towards reducing the problem of the economy and not giving a chance to those selfish people.
