Insecurity: ISAMATA President, Ezeanochie Calls For Peace

  • Advises govt on youth empowerment

Following the ugly heights of insecurity in Imo State, South East and in Nigeria at large, which is crippling the economy of the nation and that of the state, the President of ”Imo State Amalgamated Markets-Traders Association, ISAMATA, Hon.Comr.Emmanuel Ezeanochie, in his Owerri office, has called for calm and peace.

 

The ISAMATA President made the call in a swift media chats with some cross section of newsmen who stormed his office at the State Secretariat Complex Owerri.

 

Speaking on last Friday, Nov.12th 2021, the President of ISAMATA, Ezeanochie, frowned at the negative heights of insecurity in Imo State, which according to him is cause of hardship and deaths of so many people in the state.

 

“You know the security challenges we are facing now? It is not only in Imo State but in South East and in Nigeria. Our economy is rapidly dwindling and declining on daily basis. It is not the best for us. We must rise to the occasion and collective fight against the insecurity”, Ezeanochie stated.

 

“Still on the insecurity in the state, markets and traders are the worst hits and we have recording high on the number of victims and deaths. We need effective protection and security from the government. Govt.should enhance the security in all the markets in Imo. We have 327 officially recognized markets from across the 27 LGA’s of Imo State but we are lacking security”, President Emmanuel submitted.

 

Speaking further, the ISAMATA leader, Ezeanochie, commended the Governor of Imo State, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, for restoring peace and security of lives and properties of Imolites, even as he extolled the activities of all the security agencies operating in the state but encouraged them to do more.

 

“I am ceasing this opportunity to appeal to the Government to support and encourage traders and markers with soft loans and business empowerment”, he hinted.

 

President of ISAMATA , Ezeanochie who narrated the ordeals, predicaments and plights of the traders/marketers in Imo State insisted that the traders should be empowered.

 

Ezeanochie argued that the only remedy and solution to insecurity is incessant or constant youth empowerment so as to encourage those who have skillful ideas and business ideas to strive.

 

President Emmanuel of ISAMATA therefore dedicated his football competition for the youths tagged : “Imo 3R ISAMATA football tournament” that was kicked off last Sunday,Nov.14th 2021.

 

” We have decided to encourage Imo youths and reunite them through sports in quest for talents amongst youths and to keep the youths busy and as part of  reducing crime and criminality in the society”, Ezeanochie revealed.
