The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, signed a Memorandum of Understanding in his office on Tuesday for the board’s takeover of a newly built and well-equipped private school.
The MoU was signed with the Trustee of Makwangiji Abdullahi Musa Memorial Comprehensive Community Academy Lafia and NSUBEB.
Other signatories included the Executive Chairman of Lafia Local Government Council, Mohammed Haliru, the representative of UBEC, as well as the representatives of the Emir of Lafia and the community.
The school, which is properly fenced, has six classrooms, is well furnished, has good toilet facilities, a borehole, and good office accommodation. It was built by a philanthropist and citizen of the state, Alhaji Hafize ICPC.
Speaking after signing the MoU, Dr. Kassim expressed appreciation to the donor for giving back to society and promised to recruit new teachers for the school and transfer other teachers to the school to ensure that the school takes off in September.
