Ilaro Oronna Festival – A Tool For Religious Harmony, Unity Of Yewaland – Chief ‘Bisi Emmanuel Ekunola

Chief ‘Bisi Emmanuel Ekunola the Baale-Elect of Pahayi Land and on behalf of the entire sons and daughters of Pahayi Kingdom felicitates with HRM Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle (MFR) and the entire Ilaro indigene on the occasion of Oronna Ilaro Festival (Festival of Mercy).

 

Ekunola enjoined Yewa sons and daughters to protect the symbol of the cultural heritage which Oronna stands for at all the time.

 

According to the Baale-elect, “the rebirth of our culture and tradition should be regarded as a means of peaceful coexistence in every Yewa community and Yoruba nation at large.”

 

Ekunola emphasised the need for Yewa People to preserve their cultural and traditional artefacts, while they should also not lure religion with tradition and culture as both were not related.

 

Baale cautioned Politicians not to hijack the festival or politicized the events but to support the Kabiyesi and citizens in making the celebration a success.

 

Kabiyesi, your indefatigable roles in seeing to the rebranding & protecting of our great cultural & heritage shall ever remain indelible in our memories. You are indeed an asset to us all.

 

I wish to equally express our profound appreciation to your royal majesty the Paramount ruler of Yewaland in which Pahayi is one of the towns under your supervision and Olu-in-council for your intervention over the vacant stool of Baale of

 

the ancient City of Pahayi, your intercession is highly commendable.   This, to us, is in recognition and appreciation of love that exist between the two communities and Yewaland as a whole.

 

It is our prayer that your dream for Yewaland will be fulfilled in your lifetime.

 

Ekunola further used this medium to commend His Royal Majesty Kabiyesi, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, Olu-in-Council and the Chieftaincy Committee ably led by Chief Fadayiro (SAN) for promoting and protecting our tradition and cultural heritage.
