On Tuesday, Nov.2nd, 2021, an obvious dramatic tape was played by the Imo House of Assembly members at the scene during the plenary in the Assembly Complex when the Speaker of House, Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem, of Onuimo State Constituency, in his capacity, pronounced the successful impeachment ploy of the Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, of Chyna, of Nwangele State Constituency by 18 lawmakers.
The Speaking, also in his power at the same time ordered the House and recalled the six (6) suspended lawmakers.
Pronouncing the impeachment of the Deputy Speaker on the floor of the State House, the Speaker of the Rt.Hon.Paul Emeziem maintained that the impeachment was sequel to a Panel report presented to him by the member representing Orsu State Constituency, Hon. Ekele Freedoline Nnodimele aka Stainless.
Emeziem informed the House that 18 lawmakers out of the 27 lawmakers signed the impeachment report.
Speaking on why the Deputy Speaker was impeached, the Speaker said that he would have disclosed the reasons via the report submitted on his desk but due to wanting of time, he remained impeached.
Meanwhile, the six (6) Imo lawmakers who were suspended from the House of Assembly were reinstated.
Announcing the reinstatement of the six suspended lawmakers on the floor of the House, the Speaker said that their immediate resumption to their legislative duties was due to the report submitted by the Adhoc Committee headed by the former Deputy Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon.Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu.
Speaker Paul, said that according to the report submitted before the floor of the House that the suspended lawmakers have shown sincere collective remorse for their attitude and have promised to remain abiding by the rules and regulations of the House.
“The suspended lawmakers are hereby recalled and their suspension have been relaxed”, he submitted.

Hon.Kennedy Ibeh, of Obowu-APC,

Hon. Michael Crown Onyemaechi, of Ihitte-Uboma, APC.
