Imo Assembly Suspend 3 Lawmakers, Including Impeached Speaker Over Forgery, As Ibeh Emerged Speaker

Following the supposed failed impeachment of the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, IMHA, Rt.Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu, some of the principal officers of the house have suspended three (3) lawmakers of the 9th Assembly, including the embattled Speaker who was impeached on Monday, Nov.8th, 2021 in Owerri.

 

Those suspended are the immediate impeached Imo Speaker,  Paul Emeziem, of Onuimo, Okey Onyekama, of Mbaitoli, and Ekene Nnodomele, of Orsu.

 

Briefing newsmen on the suspension of members, the member for the Ideato South State Constituency, Johnson Duru, disclosed that the three (3) lawmakers were suspended for forging signatures of 18 lawmakers during the failed impeachment of the Deputy Speaker, Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, of Nwangele.

 

According to Johnson, ” An  Ad-hoc Committee will be set up by the newly anointed Imo Speaker, Rt. Hon.Barr. Kennedy Ibeh, of Obowo,  for further disciplinary actions against the lawmakers.

 

Other members present at the press briefing include Hon Barr.Frank Ugboma, of Oguta, Hon.Chiagoziem Nwaneri,of Oru East, Hon.Micheal Crown Onyemaechi Njoku, of Ihitte-Uboma, Hon.Mrs.Ngozi Obiefula, of Isu, Hon.Mrs. Uju Onwudiwe,of Njaba, and Hon.Chiji Collins, of Isiala Mbano.
