Comrade Yusuf Sarki Iyal of the Civil Service Union has emerged as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Iya polled 194 votes to clinch the Chairmanship seat while the incumbent Chairman who is also the National treasury of the Medical and Health Workers Union polled 184 votes respectively.
Adeka lost his reelection bid to his Auditor Yusuf Iya of NCSU, announcing the election result after the 6th state delegates’ conference.
Mercy Okezie, Vice-President of NLC, NLC who is the returning officer, said Iya emerged as the new Chairman after getting 194 votes, saying 383 delegates participated in the process.
According to the returning officer, by the power bestowed on me as the returning officer, i hereby declare Yusuf Sarki Iya as the new NLC Chairman of Nasarawa State.
Comrade Iya in his acceptance speech vow to priorities workers’ welfare, as he promised to carry all and sundry along and not to let workers down throughout his four years in office as the Chairman of the Union.
Other officials elected includes; Yohana Jatau as Vice-Chairman 1, Abubakar Abdullahi Vice-Chairman 2 and amongst others.
