Breaking: Court Upholds Joshua Ubandoma Judgment, Strikes Out  Barr. Zulfa’s Appeal

A Plateau State High Court on Friday upheld Hon. Joshua Ubandoma  Laven of the People Democratic Party,(PDP,) judgment by dismissing an appeal filed by Barr. Zulfa Bitrus Rimven of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on the ground that the suit is lacking in merits.

Justice Ishaku Kunda while delivering his judgment said the appeal lack the basic grounds because the judgment was more declaratory which seek to quash all the contending issues.

Barr. Zulfa Rimven approached the high seeking for the interpretation of the judgment entered in favour of Hon Joshua Ubandoma Laven on the 2nd November 2021.

The Judge held that for Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission, PLASiEC, to conduct an election into the seat of Langtang North LGA is unnecessary, above all null and void because in the first instance the seat of the above mentioned has never been vacant.

He explained further that the PLASIEC fragrantly violated the court restraining order which was earlier served by the claimant Applicant as PLASIEC dance to the tune of jungle Justice rather than following the rules of law.

The high court order that Barr. Zulfa Rimven should vacate office with immediate effect for Ubandoma Laven seat had never been declared vacant.

Justice Kunda reaffirmed that he who must go for Justice must go with clean hands and PLASIEC to conduct an election or declaring the seat vacant is illegal, so Zulfa Rimven is an illegal occupant of the Chairmanship of Langtang north.

He said they should maintain statuquo of the judgment entered in favor of the claimant and any overstay of Zulfa Rimven is an abuse of court order.
