It was an emotional scene at the headquarters of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB) today (Thursday) as the Executive Chairman of the Board, Dr. Kassim Muh’d Kassim, moved a young woman into tears after offering her an immediate appointment.

The woman, a First Class graduate of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), and an indigene of Akwanga Local Government Area, was said to have been seeking employment since 2018 without success for over eight years.

Narrating her ordeal, the woman reportedly blocked the Chairman on his way out of the office to explain her predicament, informing him that despite graduating with a First Class degree, she had roamed the streets in search of a job to no avail.

Moved by her story and courage, Dr. Kassim was said to have been visibly emotional and nearly shed tears as he listened to her.

The NSUBEB Chairman said such brilliant and determined young people need to be encouraged and not allowed to waste away, adding that the young woman could one day rise to become a Permanent Secretary if given the opportunity.

In a surprise gesture, Dr. Kassim immediately offered her an appointment with the Board.

Overwhelmed with joy and disbelief, the woman broke down in tears, thanking the Chairman for what she described as a life-changing miracle.

The gesture has continued to attract commendation from staff and observers who described Dr. Kassim as a compassionate leader with a human face.
