It was a bloody clash today in Lafia,the Nasarawa state capital as fierce looking supporters of the PDP beats up a driver of Adamu Muazu (APC) campaign vehicle along the state PDP secretariat.
The campaign coordinator of Adamu Muazu campaign Group,Hamidu Abdul Bakin-Rijiya stated this while briefing journalist in Lafia after the mayhem between APC and PDP supporters, He said if not the timely intervention of the police the occupant of the golf car would have lost his life.
“Isa Musa, the driver of our campaign vehicle escaped by the whisker though with the timely interference of the security agents, He however said the driver sustained a machete cut and was rushed to a hospital and has since been discharged.
Hamidu fingered PDP youths suspected to be Yusuf Agabi, a governorship contender’s thugs for indulging in this heinous crime, He said they had already reported the matter before the Nasarawa state police command,Hamidu Abdul averred that no arrested has been made.
The State Police Public Relation Officer,Umar Numan could not be reached at the time of filling this report for comment, Unconfirmed information available to our reporter unfolded that the attack on the driver of Adamu Muazu aspiring for senator Nasarawa south senatorial district was a reprisal attack on some PDP supporters in the early hours of today.
The PDP supporters were attacked by APC youth while scores of vehicle were vandalized in the brawl,The melee it was revealed lasted for 20 minutes causing gridlock to commuters plight Shendam-Assakio road.
The melee caused gridlock along the Jos-Akwanga highway,This happened at the time when one of the governorship aspirant of the PDP,Yusuf Agabi visited the party secretariat, Agabi during an interaction with journalists said he was compelled to join the race in order to salvage the state from the increasing insecurity that wreak havoc to the state.
Agabi who unfolded that tomorrow was slated for him to submit his nomination form to run for the office of governor under PDP promised to accord priority to insecurity,agriculture and infrastructure.
