Litigation: Nasarawa State PDP Members Insisted On Reconciliation

Majority of the Nasarawa State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, has urged aggrieved members of the party to bury their hatchet for the overall interest of the party ahead of 2027 election.

Hajia Farida Umar, A female stakeholder from Nasarawa South Senatorial zone during her remarks called on the critical bigweights of the party to forgive everyone.

Farida Umar announced to the gathering of her intention to vie for the position of National ex-officio of the party ,During an interview with selected Journalists shortly at the end of the Nasarawa South Zonal reconciliation meeting organized by the new party Chairman, Hon Adamu Bako Ninga.

The former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Matthew Akwe during his speech called on the State executive not to be deterred by any court litigation, describing the ongoing court case over the selection of executives from wards, Local Government and State as duly accepted leaders of the party as a waste of time.

“The crisis in the party supposed to be an in-house issue but not court case, “Do your work and don’t be disrupted by court litigation”, PDP ward, Local Government and State congress are genuine process which was more of consensus.

“Not every political issue that we will approach in a court, and not all cases that you will get Justice in court, It is only those that don’t have work to do that go to court over party affairs” He added.

Ibrahim Osabo Keana told the gathering that he decamped from the People’s Democratic party to the ruling All Progressives Congress for six years.

Osabo Keana explained that he preferred to remain in the PDP as an opposition party to remain in the opposition party than to belong to the ruling APC.

“I’m back to my former House which I left for good six years before I defected back recently” He added. Urging caucus to reconciled with those that drag the former State Chairman. Honorable Francis Orogu to court as well the High court in Doma urged the then party executive not to conduct any congresses from ward, Local Government and State which Francis Orogu disobey court position by conducting the congresses.

Majority of the stakeholders are in support of resolving the impasses which some of the party supporters says the skirmishes must be resolved now.

A retired Brigadier General from Lafia was picked alongside some members to ensure that the warring faction comes together for the overall interest of the party ahead of 2027.

In an interview with Journalists shortly after the reconciliation meeting told Pressmen that he will adopt a strategy he will meet with all the aggrieved members of the party.

“I will work alongside with our members to achieve why the committee was set up.

The immediate past State Woman Leader of the party, Estella Oboshi also supported the reconciliation process as the only way forward for the party to clinch the Governorship seat.

The new party Chairman, Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga in an interaction with newsmen opined that the first step to go was to strategies by setting up zonal committees for reconciliation in western, Northern and Southern zone.

“The first strategy has work for us all the three zones, and the Southern zone was the last senatorial zone, That is the one we called today, In addition if I say I will told my hands, time shall come maybe the court will dissolved the whole executives from wards, Local Government and the State level which my seat would be affected along the line.

The Peoples Democratic Party PDP Nasarawa State chapter chairman, Alhaji Adamu Bako Ninga (Talban Mada worldwide) while addressing the Press in his office after the Southern Zonal stakeholders meeting held earlier on Wednesday called on party members to unite. The Zonal Meetings in the State were summoned at the instance of the State Working Committee (SWC) aimed at watering the ground towards the progress of the party in the State.

The Southern senatorial zonal stakeholders meeting was the last to be held at Amb. Polycarp Azige State Secretariat along Jos road, Lafia.

A unanimous follow up committee were found to visit any aggrieved members. Brigadier General Philip Ashim (Rtd) heads the nine (9) Man Reconciliation Committee.

The party Chairman reiterated that, the internal misunderstanding is just a momentary challenge that will be subdued sooner or later to the admiration of all and sundry.

“The Nigeria and Nasarawa State masses are visible fade up with the misrule of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC in the country and particularly the State and are eagerly waiting for the umbrella party PDP to salvage them from the shackles of the economic hardship.

Ninga said the PDP is the only political party with purposeful ideology driven by the peoples oriented policies with a workable constitution which details internal crisis management system, hence those processes will be exhausted by the leadership to accommodate everybody excerpt otherwise. “All PDP members are equal before the party and none of the PDP member is above the party”.

Addressing the full capacity crown in the main hall of the Amb. Polycap Azige PDP Legacy Secretariat Complex along Jos Road Lafia, the zonal chairman-South, Alhaji Isa Sule Wakwa assured the PDP family in the zone of the readiness of his leadership to explore every means possible to drive the party to victory as usual in the zone and the State in general.

According to Ninga,”PDP is like a market place,and any decision we will take must be for the best interest of the party”.

PDP is a party that gives power to the people to decide who to governed them at an appointed time. Hence, the door is wildly open and the aims of the peoples choose leaders are friendly open to embrace everybody.
