APC Inaugurates Presidential Screening Committee By Hassan Galadima, Abuja
The Chairman of All Progressive Congress Chief John Odigie Oyegun has inaugurated an eight member committee to handle the Presidential Screening Committee of the party.
He tasks all the members to conduct credible screening in line with party activities geared forward 2015 general election in Nigeria.
The Chairman added that the party was careful in appointing people with credible records as members of that committee. He also reminds them the challenges at this critical time, as he added that Nigerians are waiting to see who will be emerge as presidential candidate of the opposition party that can win the ruling party come 2015 general election in Nigeria.
Chief Oyegun expressed worries over the recent political crises, especially in the National Assembly over the leadership of the House of Representative which he described that it is not good for our nascent democracy.
Speaking the Chairman of the APC presidential screening committee Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, former ANPP National Chairman has assured Nigerians that the committee will do their best to conduct a credible screening to all the aspirants that can meet and satisfy the yearning and demands of Nigerians.
He therefore solicited for the support and cooperation of Nigerians in order to conduct their duties successfully. He added that this is the first time in the history of Nigeria, that the country have a very strong opposition party, therefore he called on political office holders in Nigeria to put the interest of the party above their personal interest in order to move the nation forward economically.
