Plateau  High Court  Sets  8th December To Entertain Expatriates & Nigerians Suit That Bothers On Fraud And Illegal Exploration

Justice Nanpon Dadi has adjourned to the 8th of December,2022 for a hearing in a suit filed by the Chairman/CEO of Dilkon Plastic Ltd, Hon. Leonard Dilkon challenging expatriates and Nigerians for fraudulent activities in Plateau State and illegal oil exploration in Niger Delta.

Those set to take their pleas before Justice Nanpon Dadi were Mr. Parag Sule,Babatude Sadiq ,Titus Gopep ,Rajan Singn, Sachin Singn , and Yohanna Gareka , on circumstances and the interest of justice.

They were scheduled to be arraigned before the State High court on 11 counts charge Wednesday three of them were in court but two are on the run.

After moving the motion, the plaintiff’s counsel, Barr Francis Okafor told the court that the matter was slated for the taking of pleading all the defendants. However, out of them, only three people are present.

The defense counsel to the 1st,4th, and 5th defendants, Barr. Vincent pleaded with the court the 1st defendant is currently sick and has been hospitalized in an Indian hospital after receiving information about the death of their father and the shocking news of his in-laws who have been in a coma for two months pass on and his brother In-law died.

However, he told the court that the Nigeria high commission granted him an emergency to exit the country which is dated the 17th of June 2022 by India upon receiving that said information, Barr Vincent disclosed that when received summon for pleading he communicated with him through WhatsApp by calling to let him know the time of his return to Nigeria to enable him to attend the court pleading.

According to Vincent, his counsel I forwarded the letter to the hospital in India, but they insisted until only when he is medically fit to be discharged.

He said the Nigeria High commission has requested me to furnish them with the date for the prehearing because of authorization due to this circumstance I’m asking for an adjournment.

Vincent explained that, with respect to the 4th and 5th defendants, my Lord, I don’t know their whereabouts and I have no explanation as to why they’re not in court so a bench warrant application should be given.

The counsel to the 2nd defendant, Barr Bitrus Dung didn’t oppose the adjournment application, including the 3rd defendant’s counsel Barr Nantok Dashwar .

The 6th defendant’s counsel Barr.D.   K.Gongtul couldn’t also oppose the application for the adjournment.

“You would be recalled that the Chairman/CEO of Dilkon Plastic Ltd, Hon. Leonard Dilkon addressed a world press conference in Jos where he accused some Indian expatriates working in his organization who in collaboration with the Indian High Commission have vandalized and destroyed his factory at Bisichi.

He further alleged that the approach adopted to destroy his factory was similar to the approach used to steal oil in particular and in the destruction of the Nigerian economy in general” as alleged.
