The Association of Quranic Reciters, Nasarawa State Chapter, has recognized the commendable efforts of Princess Dr. Margaret Elayo, the State Commissioner of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, for fostering religious balance between Muslims and Christians, a rarity in today’s society.

She stated this during a familiarization visit to her office by the Association on Monday. Delegation leader Ustaz Abdurahaman Maimagi presented this acknowledgment, highlighting her unique role in bridging faith divides.

In a world where religious dichotomy often breeds division, Princess Dr. Elayo stands out as a humanitarian dedicated to fostering peace and brotherhood among diverse faiths within Nasarawa State.

Ustaz Maimagi expressed that her dedication to humanitarian work has not gone unnoticed.

He stressed the importance of her commitment, encouraging her to continue her mission of unity beyond religious lines.

Reflecting on her impactful actions, Maimagi noted, “Just a few days ago, we saw you in the mosque, organizing prayer sessions in honor of a traditional chief’s daughter. Your request for the Islamic cleric to recite the Quran and pray for peace and unity exemplifies the harmony we seek.”

He also acknowledged the positive impact she had while serving as Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, expressing concern that the most vulnerable have not received aid since her departure from the ministry.

In her response, Princess Dr. Elayo appreciated the recognition from the Quranic Reciters, stressing that the foundational principle of all religions is humanity.

She urged the Muslim clerics to leverage their influence to preach messages of religious harmony within their communities.
