4,600 Tarok Women And Youths Benefit From Federal Govt Soft Loan On Skills Acquisition

At least 4,600 women and Youth in Langtang North Local Government Council of Plateau State have benefited from the soft loan of the All Progressive Congress (APC) government of change.

The Management Committee Chairman of Langtang North, Hon Brian Bingtim Dadi gave the disclosure at the polo event held in Jos.

He applauded President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Simon Bako Lalong for impacting passively in the provision of sort loan which has helped to empower women and Youths in the council.

Dadi said since he came in as the management committee of Langtang North there have the challenges of insecurity and cattle rustling in the council but that is now a thing of the past because they introduced inter-border cooperation to manage the crisis.

He expressed confidence on tourist potential of the people of Langtang which he said the major occupation of the indigenous Tarok people is agriculture which is mostly subsistence, cultivate crops such as groundnut, Millet, Guinea corn, beans, yam cassava, beniseed.

“You know that on assumption of office I met a lot of security challenges which is ranging from cow theft, armed robbery which was on the increase but that has been reduced to its barest minimum now “, he said.

They took advantage of the happening to engage in numerous negative vices which we promptly engaged them on skills acquisition and vocational training was most of today are busy, Hon Dadi explain.

He noted that commercial banks that have set up their branches in Langtang where those who benefited has helped a great number in boosting commercial activities in the locality.

According to him some of the major physical features of the LGA which are of scenic beauty are the famous Kwallak hills , maybe hills ,jat Rock, lagab hills ,and Ndong laka hills , including hotels as a tourist attraction to the Tarok speaking natives.

He stressed that there are other local industries, blacksmithing, pottery, carving, and weaving while some engage in small scale and cottage industry to support feeding agriculture.

Hon Bingtim Dadi said the display of unique rich cultural heritage of the southern people assembled is aimed towards encouraging the state.

There are abundant industrial mineral deposits found in the southern zone of the state which includes barite, tantalite, kaolin, salt, marble, clay, zircon glass, quartz, galena, and gemstones, he added.

Chairman of the occasion, Hon Hitter Dadi described Plateau state as the hub of tourism potential of Nigeria as the state had gone into mining to improve the economic base of the state.

He urged the investors not to be mindful of the recent happening which has been nipped in bud, adding that southern zone is the mainstay of agricultural produce of the state.

Hon Dadi tasks the visitors to see the business adventure of Plateau and promote peaceful cooperation.

Bolcit Barshap said that the exhibitors are proud to put the southern zone name under dispute but to encourage the socio-political atmosphere for peace to reign.

She appealed to the state government to pay the civil servants so that they can fully participate in the trade fair.
