You Make Too Much Empty Noise, PDP Tells ACN, CPC

The attention of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been drawn to the fallacious and wicked media publication sponsored by the opposition Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) and the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) aimed at aggravating the security situation in the country.
The opposition parties in their usual noise making, homage to falsehood and lies, and quest to always be in the news for frivolous reasons, purported in their statements that the Presidency planned to impose emergency rule in some Northern states when no such decision has been reached.

We find it appalling and very disheartening that the leaders of opposition parties made up of elderly persons, who ordinarily should have the interest of the nation at heart have reduced themselves to noise makers and rumour mongers who have nothing to offer but engage in wicked fabrications all in their desperation for power.
For the avoidance of doubt, the PDP-controlled Federal Government has not reached any decision to impose emergency rule in any state of the federation and the Presidency has been clear on this.
While the security situation in the country remains a challenge to all Nigerians, it is public knowledge that President Goodluck Jonathan has been upbeat in seeking solutions in the interest of all; by way of equipping security agencies, opening opportunities for dialogue and recently, the consideration of amnesty for  Boko Haram members.
It is therefore, to say the least, despicable that the opposition, instead of supporting the laudable efforts by the Jonathan administration, will rather resort to fanning the ambers of violence through lies and fabrications in the media.
By always giving partisan coloration to the steps taken by the authorities in finding solution to the security problems especially in the north, the opposition has shown that it is only interested in the mere pursuit of political power instead of the security and welfare of our people in the troubled states.
With their penchant for crying wolf where there is none, it is clear to Nigerians that the those behind CPC and ACN are undemocratic elements who celebrate propaganda as political marksmanship and seek to always be in the news for no positive reasons but to spread venomous statements aimed at destroying the basic fabric of our common existence as a people.
Their unrelenting attacks on the President, the PDP leadership and the PDP Governors’ Forum even when there is no need for such and without proffering any solution is a testament to the fact that the opposition indeed has nothing to offer.
We recall a recent outcry by the ACN that President Goodluck Jonathan had planned a state visit to Lagos with the aim of disrupting its convention when in the actual sense, the President was merely transiting through Lagos by air to Ibafo, Ogun State for the commissioning of the WEMPCO Cold Roll Steel Plant.
We also recall that the opposition parties had severally accused the PDP of trying to scuttle their merger plan instead of admitting that in the actual sense, they lack the capacity and organizational skills to form and maintain a national party.
Even when natural disasters occur, such as the case of the 2012 flood, the ACN and the CPC, instead of supporting in finding solutions, continue to play to the gallery and blaming the PDP-led administration.
We charge the opposition to show patriotism in responding to national issues and to learn that integrity, values and reputation are worth more than mere political successes.
