Let me say up front that this is just my personal opinion and has no bearing with what the USA or Atiku may or may not be doing. I’m afraid the impunity under President Buhari is assuming a frightening dimension on daily basis.
According to the 2019 Index of Economic Freedom, Nigeria’s economic freedom score is 57.3, making it 111th in the world. It’s overall score has decreased in recent times by 12 points. With a steep slope in fiscal health, lower scores on judicial effectiveness, trade freedom and a lack of improvement in government integrity, business and labor freedom, it is a no brainer then that Nigeria “the giant of Africa” would be ranked 14th overall in these categories, among countries in the Sub-Saharan Africa region .
Never can Nigeria make progress when its constituents parts are in incessant clusters of primordial religious and ethno-political conflict. Nigeria must work towards national development and cohesion, law and order, as well as the building of strong, sustainable institutions.
Nigeria needs Inclusive governance in which the cohesive units of its nation state are given quasi autonomy, to compete and innovate. Nigeria has never been terribly divided along regional and religious as it is under President Buhari.
The retrieval of Atiku Abubakar’s 2019 Nigeria’s Presidential Election mandate will afford NIGERIA a radical departure from its presently pervasive national security chaos, looming economic disaster, as well as a rapid descent into judicial anarchy. It will also position the country in to being in tandem with the Trump Administration’s foreign policy drive towards Global “non-interference” with individual nation’s sovereignty and self-reliance. Here in lies the APC fear!
