We Arrested Uche Nwosu,He Is In Our Custody, Not Kidnapped-Imo Police

The Imo State Police Command has confirmed they arrested the son-in-law to former governor of Imo State Rochas Okorocha, and 2019 Action Alliance AA Governorship candidate, Chief Ugwumba Uche Nwosu.

This came following reports of his alleged kidnap. He was allegedly arrested today, Sunday, Dec.26th 2021, at his church at Eziama Obire in Nkwerre LGA

The Police Public Relations Officer who spoke to some media houses, confirmed Uche Nwosu’s arrest, but declined giving further details concerning his arrest.

Uche Nwosu was in his hometown church for the Thanksgiving service of his late mother, who was buried last week, when a team of policemen arrested him.

A viral video saw the policemen leading him to a waiting vehicle, while gunshots could be heard.

Imo has in recent times, been faced with Insecurity and the Imo State government had come out to accuse the former governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, of sponsoring insecurity in the state, as a way to avoid prosecution and probe.

While the police have not given reason for Uche Nwosu’s arrest, public opinion drift between Uzodinma’s promise to name the sponsors of insecurity in the state, or court order related to the probe of the Okorocha administration.

ARREST OF CHIEF UCHE NWOSU

This is to inform the general public that Chief Uche Nwosu was not kidnapped rather was arrested by the police and Imo State Police Command is aware of the arrest and presently he is in police custody.

This is to refute the earlier news that has being making rounds on social media that he was kidnapped by unknown persons / gunmen.

The Commissioner of Police while using this medium to assure imolites of the command’s commitment in ensuring the safety of Life and prosperity this yuletide seasons , advice the general public to always shun fake news .
