The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,NSCDC, Mr.Abdulahi Gana Mohammed,on Wednesday, Feb.12th 2020, paid a sober-reflection condolence visit to the Imo State Govt., the people of Okigwe zone and tomo the immediate family of Late Engr.Ndubuise Emenike.
The NSCDC National Boss visit to Imo State was because of the sudden death of Late Hon.Engr.Ndubuisi Emenike(Ototo Nwa na Imo), the 2019/2020 Imo AA Okigwe Zone Senatorial Candidate, who was accidentally shot dead by a trigger happy Civil Defence Officer at Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State,weeks ago.
Mr.Abdulahi’s sympathy tour to Imo was received by the Imo State Governor, Sen.Hope Uzodinma, who was ably represented by the State Secretary to Govt.SSG, of the State,Sir.Prof.Cosmos Iwu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Sir.Barr.Nnamdi Anyaehie, alongside other members of the Imo Expanded Executives at the Imo Douglas House.
Expressing his sympathy, Mr.Gana,shed tears concerning the sad and uncontrolled demise of Late Ndubuisi, whom he described as a promising young politician, but prayed God Almighty to grant his gentle everlasting peace in the bosom of the Lord.
He therefore state emphatically that his organisation are working to ensure that the offenders of law must be face the wrath of the law.
“We have well trained personnel’s. They were taught and guided on how to use fire arms by the Nigerian Military but any officer who misused his/her riffle must be dealt with”, he noted.
He however described the killing of Emenike a mistake that can never be repeated, even as he pointed out the further investigations must be carried out.
The Commandant General, while speaking, gave an order that all members of the organization will from henceforth stay 50 meters away from any gathering of civilians so long as they are bearing arms.
He urged politicians to help them out in this current policy for safety of lives of the public.
Meanwhile, the Imo State NSCDC Comptroller, Mr.Ibrahim I.Raji, said the organization is poised to restore the image of the Civil Defence via what he tagged as Feed Back Approach by all Community Policing method of swift information disseminations from the members of the public to the officers of the Civil Defence.
He said, ” through trans-cultural behaviour, lives and properties would be saved”.
Mr.Raji, therefore called on the public to leave decent life styles devoid of causing harm and danger to the society.
He also shared his condolence to the mourning family members of Late Emenike.
Responding, the Imo Governor, Chief Hope Uzodinma, who spoke through the Imo State Secretary to the Govt.Sir.Cosmos Iwu, assured effective partnership with the Civil Defence.
“We thanked you for coming to condole with us in Imo over the shocking death of our illustrious son, Late Ndubuisi. You have shown integrity by pulling out all your senior civil defence officers down to Imo State. We shall work in synergy”,Sir.Cosmos submitted.
