The state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon.Francis Orogu has called on Journalists to be guided by ethical norms and value by reporting accurately happenings within their area of Jurisdiction, the chairman hinted this when the Correspondents ‘ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists paid a courtesy visit to the state secretariat of the party along Jos road.
Orogu says only factual and precise reportage would add value to the nation’s political space of Nasarawa state, calling on politicians to shun politics of blackmail and campaign of calumny, bring you Down syndrome.
He expressed mixed feelings over the ongoing fight on corruption; he however described the anti-corruption war by the All Progressives Congress under the headship of President Muhammadu Buhari as a lopsided fight on opposition.
“If you are in the PDP and you were chased by the anti-graft agencies and you luckily run to APC premises or secretariat is a saint, this also encourages mass defection to the ruling party”.
Hon.Francis Orogu appreciates the press for uniting the country, attesting that the party needed the press most; he commended the party for uprooting the military from the corridor of power.
He decried the way and manner government businesses were managed by the chief executive, Governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, saying grass cutters pervades government House.
The PDP Chairman buttressed that the state was mar by maximum fraud, plight of civil servants saying the state needed an x-ray and total overhauling.
“Is only the PDP and the press that would deliver this state from the shackles of maximum fraud”.
The chairman of the Correspondents ‘ Chapel, Suleiman Abubakar promised the PDP of fair and objectivity as the watch dog of the society.
Abubakar sued for unity amongst the political parties in the state, the chapel chairman affirmed that rapid development only thrives in a serene and peaceful society.
The national vice President of the NUJ zone D, Chief Wilson Bako commended the People’s Democratic Party chairman for uniting the party which was at the verge of collapsing.
“It takes a courageous person like Orogu to revive PDP, describing the chairman as God-sent chairman, the national officer advised the party to carry all Journalists along”.
“In Journalism we don’t look down upon small newspapers as the small newspapers cause more havoc with the content of their reports”, the outcome of 2015 election may not be unconnected to the costly mistakes of the selecting media outfit ,said Wilson Bako.
