Three Suspects Arrested By NSCDC For Alleged Conspiracy And Theft Of Motorcycle

Following the arrest and arraignment of one Musa Abdullahi aged 20 years of Tukarawa village and one Salisu Adamu aged 19 years of Gafasan Turawa village all in Kafin-Hausa LGA  of jigawa state

 

The arrest was made  by the operatives of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Jigawa State Command before the Chief Magistrate Court in Hadejia Local Government Area on the 6th day of September 2021

 

The suspects we’re arrested for  alleged Criminal Conspiracy, and  Trespass with Theft, of motorcycle which is contrary to section 97, 349, & 286 of the Penal Code Law

 

the suspected  pleaded guilty and were all sentenced as follows:

 

  1. Three (3) month imprisonment for Conspiracy.
  2. Six (6) months imprisonment for Trespass.
  3. One (1) year imprisonment with a fine option of 20,000 each for Theft.

 

According to the security report, the suspects were arrested on the 2nd day of September 2021 by the members of security operatives in Kafin-Hausa LGA following a series of complaints lodged by one Haruna Abubakar of Tamburawa Quarters, in Kafin-Hausa LGA.

 

Investigation revealed that the two suspects conspired and jumped into Haruna’s house on the said day at about 0200 hours and went away with a Motorcycle (Boxer) valued at 115,000.

 

They also mentioned one Dauda Auwalu of the same address, who directed them to steal the said motorcycle for him with a promise to give them N55,000.

 

Similarly, the said Dauda Auwalu  of Tamburawa Quarters, in Kafin-Hausa LGA, was equally arrested and arraigned on the 6th day of September 2021 before the same court (CMC) for abetment, receiving stolen property & Mischief, contrary to section 83, 317 & 327 of the Penal Code Law

 

He was arrested on the 2nd day of September 2021 in possession of a Motorcycle Boxer suspected to be stolen. Upon investigation, the suspect confessed to have invited the two suspects (Musa and Salisu) to his residence and directed them to steal the motorcycle belonging to the complainant, with a promise to give them the sum of N55,000 if the operation was successfully carried out.

 

On receiving the machine, he quickly made some amendments to the body to avoid easy recognition. He pleaded guilty on the  aforementioned charges before the court and was convicted by Chief Magistrate Sa’idu Galadima as follows:

 

  1. Six (6) months imprisonment for Abetment.

  2. Twelve (12) months imprisonment for receiving stolen property.

  3. Six (6) month imprisonment for Mischief.

  4. He was also enforced by the court to give the victim the sum of N42,700 as compensation for the damages made on the motorcycle or in default serve one (1) year imprisonment.
