Former Governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu on Thursday said that Northern region is getting poorer and insecure, according to him, he said there is need to leaders from the region to take measures which are tackle the increasing trend no matter the Political party or religion.
The former Governor while addressing Journalists in Kaduna soon after the management meeting of Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, Babangida Aliyu said: “If anybody is to see the situation we are in within the North, you would know that we are poorer than the other part of the country.
“Something extra must be done by all of us regardless of party differences because there is no partisanship in terms of development of our community and we must mobilise everybody to make sure that our security is back and the people are secured and that economic development is ensured.
“And that the youth are really mobilised for positive activities that is what we have done so far, and that we would come back to look at some of the instructions we have given for the consolidation and the implementation of the decision we have taken.”
Speaking on the essence of the meeting, he said the management of Sardauna Memorial Foundation came to discuss what the board had been doing for the past few years to consolidate on it and as well look at the future of what it can do for the unity, progress and development of the Northern states in particular and Nigeria in general.
“We have looked at all the other issues and we have given them instructions on how to go about certain things, particularly in involving stakeholders in the Northern states, involving the private sector involving other foundations for the progress of Nigeria.”
Mr former governor, it is because of people like you that makes the north poor because you stole the money that was meant for those projects so don’t act so innocent when people like you are the cause. What do you think the Northern youths are stupid? .you need to go there and repent stupid.
