University Don Calls For State Of Emergency On Education

Pupils-at-education-summit-in-JosA University Don, Professor Jonah Elaigwu has called on the Federal Government to declare a  state of emergency on skills acquisition and  education in Nigeria .

Speaking as a guest lecturer during the graduation ceremony of Senior Executive course 37 at National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS ) ,Kuru Jos South Local government Area of Plateau state,  he slamed  Northern elites for  allowing  the Boko Haram sects  to destroy and causing dangerous problem which brought a total setback to the zone .

 

Elaigwu challenged citizens to not see war as a small thing, we should condemned all rising up to stop those agitation and embrace peace because its play pivotal role toward reshaping the society.

Adding he said,” if the Igbo people believe that there is something they want to express, let them look for mature ways of putting their current challenges.

We must take urgent steps to revamp our economic and approach national issues seriously to ensure better service delivery in Nigeria.”

Elaigwu stressed that the problem of Nigeria is underdevelopment; “we should give more priority to tackling the issue of education rather than sports training,  so let our  people acquire skills that has discipline .

He tasked Nigerian to focus more on discipline and vocational training and skills acquisition to remains productive.

Elaigwu reiterated that the future of our next generation of people is mostly to acquire knowledge and  brew new technology to achieve meaningful development to the country so that they become men and women of integrity .

He said government should review the falling standard of education and improve pupils learning in all geopolitical zones of the country.

He lamented that many people  buy success from schools  because  parents always ensure that their children go to university at all cost, stressing that  we can end success if we all work hard to acquire knowledge.

“We must pay teachers well, the future of this country depend on the teachers to communication.

He appealed that teachers colleges should be established across to help rebuild Nigeria.

Government should promote science and technology to lay a solid foundation for the growth and development of Nigeria ,he explained.

Elaigwu sued for greater partnership between private and public sector stability for us as a country to have development on more insensitive and employment opportunity.

He stressed that the problem with university is that; “we have those who have no business being there which brought a lot of academic incense that cannot generate any productive society.

“It’s cheaper to prevent corruption rather that probing the corruption when due process are not follow, we need honest discipline and transparent people.
