Tension And Panic In Jos As Dead Body Of A 15-Year Old Boy Is Found At Farin Gada Market

The Plateau state capital on Monday morning witnessed fresh fear and tension at Farin Gada market where vegetables, fruits are sold as the marketers were in a monumental sadness when two corpses were discovered inside by sellers in the early hours and one dead body of a female was found in waterways at fish sellers’ area with missing parts.

 

Our correspondent gathered that from the scene of the incident that unfortunate event generated lots of tension in the area as the youths of the area were said to have been on Major Street protesting and bashing oncoming vehicles linking Bauchi and Kaduna states.

 

The information available to journalists revealed that the deceased was on his way to see his grandmother yesterday.

 

Mr. Chidi Okoh, a resident of the area stated thus; “we woke up this morning and found the dead body of the child with his eyes and the private part removed and the body was abandoned here.”

 

According to him, the ugly incident caused irate youths in the area to come out and protested where vehicles windshields and petty stalls were destroyed in the process of the protest but no one was killed or injured as a result.

 

It was gathered that Police quickly arrived at the scene to calm the situation.

 

The Plateau state Police PPRO Mr. Mathias Terna who confirmed the incident said, “in the early hours of this morning I got a report that a corpse was lying behind tomato market.”

 

“We quickly came in and evacuated the corpse and on observation, we realized that tension was brewing in the area.”

 

“Our men were quickly detailed to curtail the situation and the situation is perfectly under control.” He said.

 

He further advised the Peace loving people of Plateau State to go on with their normal activities, be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
