- Commends his leadership style
The acting governor of Nasarawa state,Silas Ali Agara has been appointed by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) Nasarawa state chapter as the pillar of sports,the state chairman of the Association, Muhammed Dan Musa affirmed that the appointment of the Deputy governor as the pillar of sport was based on his immense contributions towards sport Development.
Dan Musa while presenting the letter of appointment to the Deputy governor applauded his contributions towards the success of the state owned football team, Nasarawa United football club, saying the immense contributions started years ago when Silas held the portfolio of commissioner for Youth and Sports.
“we are here to identify with you that you are one of us and due to the fact that your contributions speaks to you, we are eye witness when you transverse across the states to ensure that there was improvement in sports” he added.
Muhammed Dan Musa, described the Deputy governor as a father of sports in the state, stating that the appointment of the second citizen marks a new beginning, he in addition said the appointment would spur Silas Agara to do more towards enhancing sports in the state.
Silas Agara thank SWAN for recognizing his person in the development of sports in the state, the sport friendly Deputy governor call for special prayer for late couches of the super eagle, Shuaibu Amodu and Steven Keshi describing as doyen of football, the Deputy governor also condole with the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the lost.
Silas Ali Agara described SWAN as his immediate constituency commend the Association for finding him worthy, appealing to members of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria to portray the state in a positive way during their reportage.
“My doors are open for members of the association as well individual Journalist at all times, saying he will remain committed in adding value to sports development “.
The Deputy Governor commended the state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura for the upliftment of sports in the state; he called on the affluent in state to invest towards sports development.
