Nasarawa United Advances To Semi-Finals Of 5th Gusau /Ahlan Preseason Tournament After A 4-3 Win Through Penalty Shootout

The Solid Miners held their nerve to edge past this year’s Gusau/Ahlan preseason tournament’s hosts, Katsina United, 4-3, and book a place in the last four of the ongoing tournament, following a tense 1-1 draw in regulation time, at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina, Katsina State.

Nasarawa United struck first in the 4th minute through right back, Abubakar Abdullahi, to take the lead, but the hosts responded with a spirited second-half equalizer through Abba Musa, in the 71st minute that forced the contest into a shout-out.

In a gripping finale, composure from the spot proved decisive as Nasarawa United converted 4 of 5 penalties to silence the home crowd.

Goalkeeper, Ameh Godwin, was the standout performer, producing crucial saves during the regular time and penalty shootout session and was deservedly named Man-of-the-Match by organizers of the Preseason Tournament.
