The retiring Director of Press, Protocol and Public Relations of the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture, Mr. Peter Dama has advised staff of the ministry to always live above board in the discharge of their duties in order not to end their career in jail.

Mr. Dama stated this in Abuja on Wednesday at a reception to mark his retirement from the Federal Civil Service having clocked sixty years.

“I pray that all those I left behind will also be able to see their own exit. It is not an exit that you will see yourself in handcuffs or see yourself in EFCC,” he said.

He said despite the harsh economic climate, the workers should remain diligent at work and exert themselves in delivering their mandate.

Mr. Dama equally appealed to the labour unions in the ministry to always explore dialogue with their superiors instead of confrontation while pursuing their demands.

“I also have a piece of advice particularly to members of the unions in the ministry. We have always been together and dialogued together and it is better whenever you have challenges to meet your bosses and dialogue together rather than taking the placards or blocking the gates because that will not solve any problem,” he remarked.

He called on the staff to extend the spirit of fellowship and cooperation he enjoyed to his successor, Mr. Timothy Oyedeji.
